Cat Hunting

Yesterday, in a bid to keep the kids occupied, I took the kids to the local animal shelter to look at cats and dogs. It was a really nice shelter and the kids and I spent an hour ooh-ing and awe-ing over all the pets. I would have loved to take a couple of them home with us, but know that is not even a remote possibility.

We were also scouting out what we like in pets as we will be getting a couple cats when we move. Dogs are not an option in this culture and we feel that pets teach children so much – responsibility, nurture, sharing. We are thinking of getting the cats shortly after we get there. As the kids won’t have much else to keep them occupied, 2 little critters running around should help us out.
